Caliber question

What is the best way to go for a double stack 1911 that will be used in uspsa and 3 gun. 9mm for the capacity and low recoil and shoot minor PF in uspsa, or .40 and sacrifice a couple of rounds in your mag to be able to shoot major PF in uspsa? What are you guys using. What have you seen work. I can only buy one gun for now. I think most will say .40, but am curious to hear all opinions. Thanks, Brandon.

I say get a 9mm cause once you go 3 gun you won't be Shooting nearly as much USPSA.

All joking aside if your going to shoot major uspsa pistol matches you gotta have major or you screwed. If your just shooting club matches who cares what the score is its just practice?!?! I usually run my 9mm 2011 in L10 minor at club matches and compare my score to production. It's kinda the same just my gun is twice as fly and four times as expensive as the Tupperware stuff in production.

Highly doubtful you'll really need the extra capacity of the 9mm in 90% of 3gun stages.
The main benefits are recoil management & ammo cost.
If you'll be shooting USPSA with it, you should get the .40

I made this same change last month. You should go .40S&W, and get a 2011. There's no point in having a minor power factor Limited gun, unless you can hit all Alphas, knock down all steel, do it all faster than everyone else, and then talk elephant dung about it.
