Buying used?

Can someone recommend a good place to shop for used guns? I'm looking to get a 1911, but not sure which websites are good to watch and not have to worry about getting ripped off.

I usually search gunbroker and I always look at the sellers rating and feedback.

Does CheaperThanDirt have a good rep? I look on there all the time, but have never purchased anything. I don't like buying something online as expensive as a gun without some assurance I won't get some beat up POS or someone running off with my money.

They also have a waiting list you can get on if the gun your looking for is not currently in stock.

I've had several guns bought from gallery of guns sent to them as well. Every time I go in there the employees are great and helpful.

Their prices are very competitive, too, and in some cases the lowest you can find, including online. Websites: Bud's Gun Shop, Summit Gunbroker (mainly a Sig dealer now, but still a good resource). There are other sites to frequent for LEOs, but I'm not a LEO, so I don't keep track of them, but they seem to just be places to get amazing deals on Glocks and M&Ps.
