I don't need any now either but I do have a question for you Ryan. One of the range guys kind of gave us a hard time for picking up our brass after the match on Saturday, what's up with that? They never used to give a crap if you picked up brass.

It must have been Frank they are on a big brass thing and are starting to make people not come back. Brass is sold to buy gas paint and other stuff the range staff needs. Brass has been an issue for a while now and I wish seeklander was still there because he was on our side about brass. I have been fighting them about the brass for a while now and am not getting anywhere. Me and Brian are going to have a meeting with steve the owner and I am going to talk to him about it.

So they are giving reloaders a hard time? Most shooters out there leave brass. I may be completely wrong, but from what I have seem out there a couple of the same guys mine all the brass they can which I would guess they are reselling but generally speaking reloaders seem to pick up what they are going to reload. Majority of brass is being left.

You would think they would at least let the team guys get brass. We kind of need it so we can reload and represent the Academy and bring in more shooters. I hope you can talk some sense into them Ryan!

Dave called me today and he is going to talk to the range staff about brass. They are going tovstart picking up brass from the bays the day before a competition so there is not question if the brass was left from members or was shot during competition.

Have the started processing and reselling brass to members? Or do they do a bulk sale for peanuts to somebody like Mitch at JK who then cleans it and sells it themselves?

They sell it to the scrap yard for clean brass price after they sort the junk brass out

If I understand what you are saying correctly... They are scrapping / destroying brass that people are more than willing to buy in order to reload it? Color me confused.

I'm with JT on this one, I'd probably by mixed brass at scrap prices. I think I'm offended at the notion of brass getting destroyed.

I know that's why josh was helping us out with it. Brian Lambert offered to buy it all but they did not like the price he was offering. i think scrap is around 2 dollars a pound for clean brass. I think he was offering around a buck a pound for everything including the steel and trash that gets picked up.
