Build Options for AR

Since it looks like we will make the group buy on AR lowers. I am looking for the other items i need to finish the build. I'm going with 5.56. Magpul CTR collapsable stock. Mags of whatever size i can get ( standard + 40-60 when available ). I'm wondering where are the best companies to search for uppers etc. I'm thinking build one now in 18" or 19.5" and build my next upper in 14" or 16" for matches. or vice versa
Please advise me how best to proceed.This will be a multi purpose gun.

Are you going to just buy an upper or do a total custom build? I love BCM for either option. I can say that I also spend a lot of money with JoeBob Outfitters.

I'm doing two totaly custom builds.
The 1st will be 5.56 14" to 16" barrel for match.
The 2nd will be 6.5 grendel 19.5" totaly of the hook.

so i'm looking for individual parts to do two customs start to finish.

Bravo Company, Spikes, and Troy industries for upper parts if it were me.
For competition you'll want a light weight barrel and light weight handguards that reach almost to the end of the barrel.
I went with Troy TRX extreme 13" handguards on my build, but everyone has their preferences so you'll need to check out as many as you can before you purchase.

i will check them out as i start my build wish list. What i'm uncertain about is what upper, barrel, handgaurds and sights i will choose.
I have made up my mind on the rest to build up the lower.

If you want quad rails, I would suggest the Spike's BAR rails.

Yep, I bought the 7" version. Light as a feather and the scalloped rails are great.

The SAR rail is lighter but costs an arm and a leg more.
