I'm getting tired of the "twang" of my buffer springs. Anyone use anything other than the JP silent capture spring that's overpriced for something that doesn't really matter to most shooters?

I found this spring from Damage Industries. It's made of chrome silicon and coated, and supposedly almost silent. Best part, it's only $10.95. I'm going to order a couple and see if they work as advertised.

Should be an improvement over stock, I ran one for a while but it wasn't black in color and eventually got it mixed up with the regular springs. I have no idea which one it is now. I'd like to have a couple new ones myself!

I run a Enidine buffer so the twang is greatly reduced in my RR lower.

I run chrome silicon springs in my 10/22's and love 'em. They work equally well with subsonic or hi-velocity ammo.

If I start to hear the spring in my buffer tubes, it's my rifle telling me that part is dirty. I remove the spring and buffer, stuff a rag or something down in the tube and make sure I clean it completely out. Next, I wipe down the spring and buffer. I put about 5 drops of CLP in my palm and run the spring through it coating all the sides lightly and then lightly lube the buffer. Reinstall and noise is mostly gone. A really twangy buffer spring in my experience is a dry spring.

I must have a bum spring then. Mine is noisy when it's spotless clean and lubed.
