Im looking at a deal on one of these. How do i verfiy its year and that it was made ?n Belgium? Any idea on value? Guy claims to be almost worth a grand.
The Browning takedown 22s were made in Belgium and in 1974 were moved to Japan. The gun itself will be marked accordingly on the barrel. If you have the serial number, you can get info from the Browning website:
What grade is it? The ones with extensive engraving can easily be worth $1000. I would estimate that a very good condition standard Belgium would be in the $500 to $700 range as a guide. I know a little about them but do not claim to be an expert.
