Ive taken the liberty of emailing Mike and asking him about doing a "BoomerShooter Training Class". He is interested in doing this and thinks that the class would fill up easily since he has had requests for something like this before.

We would also need a range to host. Ive emailed OKCGC and I am waiting for a response. As some of you know, I am still fairly new to the shooting scene around here and I am not up to speed on other possible ranges that would host this. So any direction there would be helpful.

I just thought i'd post this to at least start the ball rolling and to see if there is actually an interest in having this happen within our online community
.
SO, Who here would be seriously interested in putting money down and taking this class sometime early 2014? The class has a minimum of 10 students. I think in order to make this a BoomerShooter "only" class we should require a minimum post count (50??) to be eligible.

Any thoughts and or ideas on this would be extremely helpful since I would love to have something like this happen. Maybe we can make it an annual thing? Also, would you guys possibly want to contact other instructors besides Mike or can we all agree upon him?

It would be the the "Your Competition Handgun Training Program Level 1" if that is what everyone here would agree upon.

Course Length: 2-2.5 days

Course Cost: $395.00 (with class minimum of 10) **Note: all range fees for guest range are the responsibility of the student, not S-P.

The program is like nothing else available today, focusing on not only the execution of skills but in the critical process to properly train those skills and subsequently improve your results. This course is ideal for shooting athletes that are newer to the sport and looking for a solid foundation, as well as season shooters looking to gain that competitive edge.

I don't know if it would work out or not but I have 80 acres of land that we could use for free. I also have targets and some smaller steel. All I would need is to mow and some other little things.

I got with people a few months back about this and it went nowhere. I wish you all the best at filling the class.

Spencer Keepers is the guy you need to get with at OKCGC. Its not a big deal to get the range for use and they are experienced with getting the insurance stuff worked out.

Again, all the best with this.

that would be very awesome of you to offer up the land. here is what his site has to say about his requirements.

How do I find a range to host the course?
Answer: Most potential hosts are already members of a local range somewhere, but if not you can find ranges by using google

or any search engine on a computer. Ranges might also be listed in the yellow pages or phone book. Range requirements for most Shooting-Performance courses are very simple and almost any range with an adequate and safe backstop will work. Mike Seeklander and any supporting instructor for Shooting-Performance has a full instructor liability insurance policy, and is a federally certified instructor, documentation can be provided if necessary.

surely someone can vouch for me.
Surely that would not be a problem. We could also look at his different courses to see what fits us best.

Im just trying to see if there is any interest in this at all. I was planning on taking TDSA next year anyways but i would love to take a class with this community since I already shoot matches with you all.

I will email Spencer Keepers, to see what he has to say. Thanks!!

Sign up for uspsa, shoot at least 6 uspsa matches at okcgc or h&h before 2014... boom.. classified.

you know im in this. ive kicked around this idea for a minute and would like to see this happen.

ive got his books and would enjoy getting some learning from Mike.

I mean...cmon...Jesse and Burki took this class....nuff said

I would be interested and I even got into the first steps of making a course with Mike happen before. I asked Robert Carlile about hosting at his place, Alpha Training Academy, and he said that would be fine before. This was a few months ago and I can't speak for Robert, so someone would have to confirm this. His place is more than adequate for this. I would definitely be interested.

So as far as doing it at OKCGC and me doing the "hosting" duties it is a no go. We would need to have a member of the gun club do it and they would need to have "board approval" along with other steps not detailed my Mr. Keepers.

just a piece of advice i would drop the whole "do it at okcgc" numerous people have tried in the past with no luck..
