Well, I was changing calibers on my Dillon 650 and when I was pouring the powder back into the container I realized that I was pouring about a 1/2 filled powder hoppers worth of Clays into my Accurate #5 container. It is the 8 pound container that was about 3/4 full. So knowing that you shouldn't mix powders, should I trash the entire container of Accurate #5?

All opinions welcome, but I'm leaning towards throwing out the mix.

Oh well, lesson learned!! Now I just have to figure out how to dispose of it properly.
Lay out a long thin line of it culminating in a big ass pile of powder, set it on fire and enjoy 5 seconds of fun.

Just throw it in the trash.

you can light it off if you want. It will just burn slowly.

Don't follow that advice with Black Powder or its substitutes.

you'd be surprised at how slow it is.......much different than black powder

My dad tried to dispose of some black powder back when I was in college. We will just say he watched too many westerns. Luckily, he only lost his beard and eyebrows, and looked like he had a sunburn.

Just a lot of smoke and fizzle. It makes fine fertilizer for your flower bed too.

Edit: big 2nd on the don't burn off black powder thing. Almost had to replace some windows in my moms house one time. Don't do that!

Options.

Sprinkle it out on your grass and it will fertilize it.
Save it for the 4th of July or New Year's Eve.
Make powder trails and let the kids light it.
Put some in small containers and carry them in your pocket. Every time you see an ash tray, dump some in. Works really well in a car ash tray. Just don't get too carried away.
Sprinkle some on a friends luggage before they take a flight.

That's all that comes to mind at the moment.

Larry, damn-it now I'm looking for some little container to carry some powder for some buddies ash trays :-) that is just awesome! Later,

Kirk
