I was going thru my desk, throwing out old papers I'd saved for whatever reason, & ran across an interesting ( shocking ?) item: a receipt from a batch of primers I ordered. Unfortunately, it is only part of a receipt, the heading had been removed (? why ) so I'm not sure where the order was from. My suspicion is it is from Natchez Shooter's Supply, as I used to order a lot from them, they have good prices & fast service, but it could have been an order from another supplier. The receipt is dated.. in Oct. of 2019 .

Not that long ago..I'm posting this as an example of how quickly things can change. Actually, it was 2 pieces of receipts from separate orders, taped together...the orders were placed about 2 weeks apart, but both in Oct. 2019.
1st order placed was for CCI SPP.. reg price @ that time was $34.99 / K, on sale for $28.99/K
Sale included "free" (reg.$ 19.99) hazmat, but was a $19.16 shipping charge.

2nd order was for CCI SRP..@ same price. I remember, I'd placed the order for the SPP & forgot ( or they didn't hear me say that I also wanted the same amount of SRP's) to order the SRP. When I called the online seller & explained their error ( or my mistake) they let me order the SRP's @ the same sale price, & didn't charge me for shipping or hazmat, though I believe the sale had ended. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was Natchez, as I said, they do have good customer service.

CCI primers for $29 /K in 2019..that's not THAT long ago ! I ordered a fair amount, but wish I'd ordered at least 2 X as many.

It may never get back to those prices, but after the next election if everything goes according to plan, the ammo and reloading components should drop like a rock just like it did the first time he was in office.
Back in that day, I ordered primers 10,000 at a time for every size, keeping a minimum stock of 10,000.
Did the same with .22LR when it got back down to .03 a round as well as powder, and so on.
I've heard Aliant powders have gone almost non-existant. Some blame Ukraine, Taiwan and other conflicts that are in progress or gearing up, but I don't know for sure.

The decreasing value of the dollar, as our Govt.keeps printing & giving away more of them,
pretty much assures that prices on most everything ( including & 'specially loading components ) will continue to rise, IMO
I have serious doubts that ammo & component prices will ever drop to the price levels of 2019, or anytime earlier.

Powder Valley had a flash sale today for Winchester SRP priced at $59.99.
The primer prices are coming down. I've been watching them for awhile. The gouger outlets still have them at $100 or so.
If the election goes as we hope, primer prices will get back to the $40 range per thousand or lower.
Back in the .22RF shortage in the obummer years, I vowed to never pay more than .04 per round.
Spent 4 years without buying a single round while competing with the personal stash.
It just about ran out when 2016 came along and the threat to take our firearms went away.
It got down to .03 a round for a bit, and I'll never have to buy another .22 lr round ever again.
If the election goes as we hope, buy it cheap and stack it deep. One never knows when the SHTF is going to happen again politically.
