Here you go! Start here, paying particular attn. to info on veterinary hereditary maladies(eyes, hips, rescues) that are watch-out-fors in Boykins.
SC State Dog, so several lowcountry breeders can take you through the ins/outs.

Then, before you decide, ATTEND THE NAT"L FIELD TRIALS so you can meet the breeders, the trainers, and the sires/dams and watch 'em find the birdies! Awesome event ( the World Championship!) and the friendliest/ down-to-earth folk you could ever spend time with.

April 4-7, 2013 right down the road at The Clinton House!

I have been several years as a spectator, and I'm going this year. Contact me if you want to buddy-up!
It's the most fun I've had with my clothes on since the hogs ate my little brother!

i got the best black lab ever born from a rescue center. it was just enough not purebreed to be calm and to LEARN.

it got killed so i ran to replace it.

i got the black lab with the longest pedigree, breeding quality youve ever seen, not on purpose but thats what i found.

he learned to retrieve doves, if we had seen duck he would have loved to get into the water to get them. but he is so hyper its crazy. i trained and tried and trained, he has his own head. if we are hunting and there is another dog around he is gone.

what im saying is the "best" isnt always the best for you.
