Sold/Expired Billet Lowers $89

Ok, ok, let's get this thread turned back around to the topic at hand, JBO Spartan lowers. I assembled my lower yesterday, with no problems. I really like that there's no roll pins involved. The bolt catch is pinned to the lower with a threaded pin, and of course there isn't a trigger guard roll pin to contend with. The rear takedown pin retainer boss is also threaded and a plug is included to retain the spring and detent in the event you want to remove the buffer tube. There is also a set screw under the grip location for tensioning the upper receiver for a tight fit. I am using a Vltor MUR 1S in this build, and the receivers fit together as if they were a matched pair, with that set screw backed out, so I didn't use it.

Those set screw features are sweet! My lack of patience leads to springs and pins all over my garage.

You'll have to trim the rear takedown detent spring about the length of the socket head plug in order for the detent to work like it should. If you don't, it'll lock the rear takedown pin in. Ask me how I know. The spring will be flush with the receiver when trimmed correctly.

I backed the plug back out and left it out. I don't plan on making stock changes. Thanks, I just need to decide on a forend and muzzle brake and it'll be set.

The taps and several extra set screws can be had for about $20 total at Ace. Took about 5 minutes to do my BS lower (after bending one and shooting several springs across the room...the bent one was bent at the perfect spot to cut at least).

I had seen this mod in the first issue of Recoil magazine. Having them already on the JoeBob billet lowers is even better. I have seen serial #1. These are well made and cheaper than the black rain sets I have. Add his grip screw and you can have a really nice set up. (I think I should get a kick back from Joseph.)
