I have a bone stock Springfield 1911 GI..I know I should get it dovetailed for sights BUT I spent most of this year in the hospital.
...So what would be best direct fit stake in sites?

I want to shoot at action match at H&H when I get out of here and stock sights are non existent really

I don't know jack about 1911 sight but I'm glad to hear your gonna shoot H&H with us. That organized shooting event is awesome!!!

Just throw some fluorescent paint on the front one and go shooting. Work on the other improvements as you see how much you like the ]event

Ditto on paint. Cheap and works wonders. Stop at Hobby Lobby... the Testors Model paint works good.

I put in on with a Q tip.

It may be obvious, Daywalker, but make sure you REALLY degrease it before you put the paint on. If the front sight is too small for a Q-tip you can use a toothpick

i got some 3 dot sights off ebay for my springer cut a grove in a peice of nylon & staked the front sight on with A FLAT NOSED then a round nosed punch, the sights shipped from alaska .
