Ask Me About My Cocker Spaniels
I am having some trouble figuring out why I am having FTF on my HK Benelli M1. I am getting a click when I pull the trigger, it seems like I am either getting a light strike from the bolt not being all the way onto battery or the click is just from the next shell chucking out onto the carrier.
This is the first major issues I have ever had (other than operator/weak ammo) with this dinosaur.
Here is what I did to it between September and Now.
Changed Extractor and Extractor Spring. I was having some FTE/Stovepipe every now and again (once every 50-75 rounds) towards the end of last year. I spoke with Ryan Muller and we decide the extractor sting might be shot and I had no idea its age.
While I had the gun apart, I decided to re-spring a few other things as well. I ended up only changing out the recoil spring in the stock to a standard weight spring (Brownells #301-000-098WB)
This Dec29-Jan1 I went on s pheasant trip (more of a complete whiskey bender) and I experienced the click while using heavy Golden Pheasant rounds. I could not get a round to go off at all. I had a small dent in the primer but no ignition.
I chalked it up to dirt or something else in the action or a bad firing pin. Came home, scrubbed the entire thing and even polished out the lug recess in the barrel. Ran a few shells without issue.
I have measured the new firing pin against the old used one. The used one is just a few thousandth longer than the new (3.7880 new / 3.7920 old)
I am stumped. I clean and lube this thing according to an old Enos thread by KurtM. I have some pics I will upload later of my bolt, barrel and extractor.
Thanks in advance.
