So my anniversary is coming up in march, and I wanted to get away for the weekend to a nice woodsy place with some friendly hiking trails, but plenty of options for a few things to do. Are any of these places better than the next. I remember going to slippery falls as a kid in the scouts and loving it. Looking at either a BnB or a renting a cabin.

Beavers Bend and the area around the Blue River are going to be full of folks from Texas! the weekends are crowded to say the least, Robbers Cave you will run into a few folks but it won't be near as crowded. Last trip to Beavers Bend to toss some flies I drove down looked around and hit the road, never even got the rods out...... just too many people! Later,

Kirk

Beavers bend during the week is doable. Weekends not so good.
It may be a little drive for you, but I might suggest staying on lake Tanneycomo at Branson Mo.
Google Lilleys Landing for accommodations. Very quiet, world class trout fishing, and your only minutes from restaurants/shows/shopping.
We have been coming to this resort for 26 years. I've turned lots of folks on to this place. Not one has had a negative thing to say about it.

Beavers Bend is absolutely gorgeous in the fall but I don't know about the spring. +1 to Lake Tanneycomo or Table Rock Lake. My parents own a timeshare on Table Rock and the area is beyond beautiful in the spring.

Tanny really shines in the fall.

Well this would be mostly for hiking and romantic cabin getaway type thing. Do you think the crowds would bother us in that way? Most of the cabins I looked at for rent looked like they had plenty of space around them.
