Bayou Bullets

Now that you guys have had a chance to shoot them how do you like them for reloading? They go pretty smooth? also how bad is the barrel after shooting them? I get tired of all the lead fouling from lead bullets and the fear of lead getting into the house and onto my kiddos toys is enough to drive me crazy.

Also I was wondering if they still have lead characteristics. Specifically if I loaded them up in .357 or a hot 9mm would I still need to use gas checks?

I have been shooting Bayou Bullets for a couple years in 5 or 6 different guns. There is no issue with leading nor will you need gas checks. Give Donnie a call or e-mail and ask about your concerns. He can send you samples of what you are intending to try.

I have shot quite a few moly bullets and they are better on all levels than plain lead but the Bayou bullets seem to be the cleanest when reloading and shooting for that matter. While reloading my fingers get a little black from handling the bullets but that is just the moly powder from the bullets and wipes off/washes off very easy. From what I am told the moly completely covers the lead even as it comes out of the barrel so the residue should be "as safe as" FMJ bullets. I did notice some leading of my barrel when I was shooting plain lead but since shooting moly it stays as clean as FMJ. Donnie is a great guy to work with and makes a great product.
