Battle Rifle picture thread

Let me clarify, its not owned by moi. But it sure as hell is issued to me! Woot! But we have an understanding....she's mine. I will tell you, its not particularly pleasant on go fast mode.
 
Troy, that comment was tongue in cheek.

Don't really know if I'd want to shoot one in go fast mode. Okay maybe one mag. If my arm was twisted.

Got a new one. Ishapore 2A1, made in 1966. Chambered for .308 with a 12 round mag and the smoothest bolt throw you have ever seen!

Consider this a "before" pic, as I plan to strip the stock down and do a few other things. Planning to have it end up as a kind of sniper clone.

Those are some gnarly stains on your comforter. Makes that rifle look like new.
 
Actually that's the living room rug. Wife picked it out, and of course the 5 kids help it stay stained.... :roulette:
 
My only battle rifle is a 7.7 Jap that has been sporterized. Still has the flower emblem on the receiver, but has been converted to a .300 Savage. (same ballistics as a .308)
The .300 was considered a wildcat in its day.
The stock was replaced with another and custom engraved by its owner. It had so much character, that I couldn 't resist buying it.
It has what I believe is an original first edition weaver scope. Kind of cloudy, but it will keep a 2" group at 100. Good glass would improve that.

Here is one of my favorite pics. It's from a "tactical" carbine match about 5 years ago, hence the vest. It a good shot of the gas port on the M1A.

When Austin had his Garand at 3MR there is a reason I did not ask to hold it. The 03, Garand & M14 they are good looking rifles.
 
Here's some older pics of my SIG 550.
Meanwhile, the UBR has been switched again for the original Swiss folding stock and it is now sporting a T1.

AHHH old kalashnikov, for some reason I smell vodka and bad cabbage...

Love me an AK...maybe not the most elegant or refined, but a tough SOB if there ever was one...
