I've been thinking about getting a new bank (or at least switching exclusively to my credit union) for awhile now. This is based on many of the new fees and other limitations I have had with Bank of America over the years, but this may have just cinched the deal for me. When you are being told that your business is not welcome because of your relationship with firearms it?s time to find a new bank. Now, I fully support BOA's decision to do whatever it want to, business wise. However, I think they will be losing more than just one company?s business if this is their new official stance. I also have to wonder if it doesn?t fall under some kind of discrimination law.

Time to find a new bank

I know that if I had any buisness with this bank, it would end today....

I will stay with my Credit Union...It is small, but, it works for me....not the Obamanation....

I wonder if that was a condition of the $20B bailout BOA received?

Reminds me of some other companies that have various arbitrary restrictions and policies. They have the right to decline certain businesses, and we have the right to take our business elsewhere and personally boycott them. Remember, we should also participate in buycotts, where we support the businesses that support our principals. Either way, always write a letter to let them know why you are patronizing or boycotting them, and what you think about their policies.

The topic had been posted about, so I merged the threads.
I've been a customer with BoA for years and I was already in the process of shutting down my accounts with them, this just makes me more determined to accelerate the timeline.

OMG LMAO....I went to navy federal about a month ago I have been with them since I joined the military. The funny part was I went in today of all days and closed all five of my accounts/ cards at b of at 12. They refused to give me a credit card machine two months ago because I dealt with gun auctions and they told me that 90% of all online auction deals are illegal. Yep, Made my decision that day to switch. She asked me today why I closed EVERYTHING and I told her that I didnt want them to go down with me when I got busted for selling guns illegally on the internet. She just looked at me and smiled and changed the subject quick. lol

Hoping we can ditch BOA later this year when we sell our house. I didn't know mortgage companies could buy and sell loans, until I got a letter in the mail stating BOA had bought our mortgage.
