Give the NRA proof on where you stand. Take this quick poll.

Question #3 refers to a ban on lead ammo. Now take that in combination with this standing restriction which has recently led to the ban on green tips, and you have nothing left to make bullets:

  • A projectile or projectile core which may be used in a handgun and which is constructed entirely (excluding the presence of traces of other substances) from one or a combination of tungsten alloys, steel, iron, brass, bronze, beryllium copper, or depleted uranium; or
  • A full jacketed projectile larger than .22 caliber designed and intended for use in a handgun and whose jacket has a weight of more than 25 percent of the total weight of the projectile.

I don't see how the lead-free/copper only projectiles are not already in violation. Maybe they aren't going to touch them until the lead is gone.

Agreed, that appears to be a strategy and one already with precedent. Lead shot has long been Federally banned for use in/around waterfowl areas (I've no problem with that as scientific data seems to support this as good conservation).

But many states and game preserves have lead ammo bans in place for general hunting and shooting as well. Lead fishing weights are banned in some waters. Gasoline is unleaded, as is paint.

The point is, these precedents on lead banned substances are already in existence and the thinking of the general citizenry already swayed. We Patriots, shooters and sportsmen (correct, 2A is not about 'hunting' but those are not mutually exclusive labels either) are on a slippery slope if we lay down on any fight and this one in particular.

Let your employees(Representatives) know how you feel. Vote at the ballot box and the cash register. We have won several favorable rulings in the last few years, 2A support is high as evidenced by FA ownership and CWP, and we have the momentum. From what I've read, this ban is not a done deal unless we stand down the fight.
