I'm all for being patient (please excuse spelling error and Kramer issues; will edit later. On my mobile). I got to the gunshot an hour early and stood in line around the parking lot. I was fine with that. Got in and went straight to Georgia arms. Got my primers and brass; and didn't move since then. It is now 1037. An hour and a half of literally standing in the same spot. I can see sales happening; but they are on the other side of the table. When I tried to get over their I nearly got shanked. Anyone else Havering / had this much fun

I got to the table early enough to get a box of .22wmr and a bag of .308 and must have had a good spot, laid and moved on in 15 minutes. Walked around the place twice and left. That was at 9:45. Just went by again and the line us still in tha parking lit and cars backed up to The Burger King. If all these people would go to the rallies, think if the message that would send??

I have never been to a gun show.

I have never been to a strip club.

From listening to people that have done (either) I am certain that I have made the right choice.

They used to be better 20 or so years ago...

now they all are customized with high capacity mammaries.

Wait, what were we talking about again? Oh, gun shows. Right, I've never been to one either.

:geek:

Today most gunshows suck. High door fees and high prices at the tables. When I was a FFL dealer I set up at 32 shows each year. I sold ammo, accessories, parts , and guns. I went to each show with the intention of selling everything I brought not making the mortgage payment with one gun sale. I was smart by having low overhead and thus selling at a lower yet still profitable price. Volume sales was key to my success. Many times my prices were so low that dealers would buy my wares and mark them up and sell them at their own table! If A customer bought a gun or made a large purchase from me I would usually knock off the admission price. This prompted many buyers to look for my tables at each show. My customer base was huge.

I got my primers around 9:10, paid and got to leave around 10:45. Nuts, man, I tell ya. Actually had my good Karma moment too - dude behind me in line was buying a can of .223 and a can of .45. I noticed his pistol ammo was .45GAP and started asking how his Glock shot, etc. He responded with a bewildered look "I have a 1911". So I told him to go back and get .45ACP before he blows his fancy gun up.

I went today. Waiting in line for about 45 minutes. We got there around 10ish. Walked through. No. 22lr ammo. (Really wanting to get the ammo for my 6 year old honestly). Several, i mean Several over priced firearms. Some good deals on firearms, but not what i was looking for. 9mm ammo was on average $35 for a box of 50 (range ammo). I kept on trucking on at this point. A vast majority of vendors were "cash only sales". (Atm outside is a $5 surcharge mind you). A local shop had a booth setup and they had some firearms marked up over their normal high priced store prices. I say this every time, i dislike the gunshow at the fairgrounds. But i will be going back tomorrow just in case there is any scraps left again and maybe these vendors will come back to reality. Cheapest ar15 i saw was $1149. Bare bones. One guy outside the gate had what i thought was decent prices on ar 15 magazines 4 for 55 or 8 for 100. I do not own an ar15 and could careless if I do. But of course I scanned them out for personal laughter.

I wasn't gun shopping, so I'm not sure what the prices were. Ammo was high, but at least it was there (.22 excepted - I was looking too). I'm not about to pay double for plinking ammo. No one had 9mm Federal HST, so no 'real' ammo to be seen either.

The one booth that got a laugh out of me (and paid me $35 for my AR 22 magazine) only had mags and such. 15 round MecGar for my Ruger = $75. 15 round extended 1911 mag = $125. AR GI Mags = $40. PMAgs $80. That guy is at every show, with the same stock every time... so he is definitely taking advantage of the market. Didn't see many folks actually buying from him though :)

There was one table, I'm not sure who, that had AR LPKs for $70, which isn't stupid high. They had quite a few; if I was in a hurry to build my other two guns I would have jumped. Had lowers and uppers and all sorts of parts.

I did get 1k of pistol primers, which should set me up for a while. No projectiles though. Also no DDupleks shotgun ammo, which seems to have quietly vanished from the market altogether.

Just an FYI...my 9mm was 85 per 250 rds. That is probably why the guy bought me out.

i finally got checked out at about 1115 from Georgia arms (more correctly Enjay came and relieved me in line before i strangled someone, and she managed to get checked out. @$$&*!# line jumpers and incompetent cashiers had me on the edge of apoplexy). i did find some good deals on guns (some; best one was a 20 guage short barrel pump action for 200) and many more bad deals (480$ for a Henry survival rifle. seriously?) found 22lr ammo at 4 different booths. only 80$ for a box of 550 federal or Winchester gold dot. that seems to be market price these days. AR mags inside were going for 20-30 used on the cheap end, and upwards of 50 at one booth. (or the guy who was trying to sell them in line for 75$ each. laughed in his face. i needed it to after ga arms). could not find anyone with cleaning rods (the 3 piece brasss ones )though, usually i can find them at a few different booths. since i managed to strip out 2 of ours in the last 6 months (don't ask) i really wanted some more. Almost no one had bullets. ammo was of course jacked way the hell up, but the average was only .50/round for 223, as opposed to the 1$+ I've been lucky to find it for lately. Honestly the biggest issue i had was with the crowds. I don't deal well with crowds that are packed in like sardines.

Jeff: He was selling your 9mm rounds for $25.00 for a box of 50....

Wow.

I have seen dealers at some shops sell ours close to that since no one can get it. Our price we sold or sell it is 16.99-17.99.

If any one on here needs any thing in the basic calibers, just let me know. I will try and get you taken care of. Only call on or after tues. thanks.
