"Assault-weapons" ban nixed from bill

It's going to be interesting to see what all the panic'ers & flippers are going to do with all those $1800 entry level AR's & $500 stripped lowers.

Thank God, I guess that means an ar-15 build is in order for this summer! (and maybe a cz 712 or sx3 build...a nice little upgrade from my sxp....I have to start somewhere!)

Well she has had it on her mind for at least 19 years, I doubt she will stop trying. Hopefully her cronies have had enough of her though.

I think this story is good news. The things I have read today seem to indicate that it is unlikely that a "stand-alone" AWB or magazine ban will make it through the House even if the Senate did pass it. Am I going to stop contacting my representatives? NO, but I am calling this a small victory.

The next hurdle we need to clear is universal background checks (UBC). Since Coburn withdrew his input from anything Shumer is planning, the likelihood of UBC is becoming less and less probable

DO NOT REST THOUGH! The fight is not over!

Ha Ha, even if they could get fed up with her she would probably move to Colorado or New York and run for office there.

It seems, in the Senate that the ultimate low life, bottom feeding snake, majority leader Harry Reid is, in this instance, OUR low life, botttom feeding snake.
Old Harry, who carries an NRA "A " rating, and who has some 20+ Dims facing reelection in 2014 has wisely proclaimed that any so called assault rifle ban, magazine limit, or universal background check legislation will not be brought up for a vote unless he believes the legislation will pass in the House which is highly unlikely.
The bottom line is that, snake though he is, Harry can and probably will torpedo any anti gun legislation in the Senate by refusing to bring it to an embarrising vote and you should not go out and spend two big ones on a Bushmaster or $100 on thirty round magazines.

The sad thing is, although each is supposedly passionate about their cause, they both know she has no chance to win. We are wasting tax payers money on an issue both sides know won't win. Each party gets more money in their coffers for their fervor about their sides on guns. It's kind of like the cold war, our only hope is the Dems run out of money quicker, like the Russians did.
