The 2014 USPSA Area 4 match will be held once again at the Old Fort Gun Club, near Ft. Smith, AR.
Match date is August 28th - 31st.

It'll be a hot 12 stages with a bit more steel than last year. SIG, STI, and Phoenix Trinity are the major sponsors so far.

The website is up and running. Sign up, squadding, and scoring, are being administered by Practiscore.

A note from Bruce (OFGC Practical Pistol director and general all around ne'er-do-well.)

Shooters,

If you are coming to Fort Smith and need hotel accommodations, check out the Candlewood Suites Hotel. Located at 7501 Madison Avenue, it is just off Phoenix Avenue near the Fort Smith Airport. This property is as close to the OFGC River Range as you will find in Fort Smith.

The property is all suites. Each room has a full refrigerator, sink and stove. Important to shooters, the staff is quite "Gun Friendly." The Practical Pistol shooters have designated the Candlewood as the match hotel for major matches for several years.

Special discounted rates have been offered to all shooters, not just Practical Pistol. If you compare these rates with other similar properties on the east side of Fort Smith, I think you will find them to be quite favorable.

Area 4 match is getting closer by the day. Hope everyone is making plans. Troy says stages will be out in a few days.

AMMO SHIPMENTS: If you are flying in for the match, I know what a hassle it is to carry 300+- rounds on an airline. If you would like to ship your ammo in advance, we will be pleased to accommodate you. Ship the ammo to Bruce Bethell, 1309 South 41st Street, Fort Smith, AR 72903, phone number (479) 785-4558. This is Bruce’s office address, so deliveries will need to be weekdays during office hours. Put your name on the outside of the shipping container. We will send you an email confirmation that we have received your ammo. Give us your arrival date, and your ammo will be at the Range. One note -- the office will be closed the week of July 14 to 18, so ship after those dates.

Just a quick update. I've been trying to scrounge a few extra things for the prize table. (i'm not officially part of the match staff, I'm just a meddler)
Today, Salomon agreed to provide a bunch of shoes, Suunto is providing a sweet watch. Streamlight kicked in some lights.
DAC is sending a bunch of cleaning kits. One of my favorite taco places is putting a coupon in the match book.

Its looking good.

I'll second this motion!

Just changed the oil in my truck and was drenched and dripping and it wasn't even hot. Jeeze Louise it's thick!

No kidding. Thats one more of the many reasons I hate crapiscore.
I wasnt able to squad wih anyone I know. For all I know my squad consists of D-class L-10 shooters and a bunch of Open Masters.

I complained to the praciscore guys about this...they dont care. Not one bit.
