AR about to be complete

Well the big brown truck and the nice mailman brought some goodie boxes yesterday and today for the final items for the AR :72: I'm going to run over to a buddies house who has the put together tools and I'm thinking by 5:00pm I'll have a rifle that goes boom. Try to get to the range tomorrow and see if I can hit anything with it and might even chorny some 7WSM rounds, supposed to meet Troy and get a holster and mag pouches, I've got a box of shotshell caddies and a new belt so if the world is still turning and Karma is nice to me I might get to shoot 3-gun this month with you guys.

I'll try and get some pictures up when we get this little black jewel together this evening. Oh boy oh boy I'm getting excited! Later,

You're looking at a one to two month wait for the next batch to come out. I gave up and went with a young mfg super light weight carrier.

How much was your barrel and what length was it? Is that a jp adjustable gas block?

Barrel is a DPMS ($179) it's sorta heavy under the handguard but not too heavy 18" yes that's a JP front sight gas block all rolled into one, found out it's adjustable and an LMT rear sight. That SJC comp is longer than I thought it was going to be but if it works like they say I should be happy with it.

I really wanted to go with an Eotech but I like to do things a little different and after looking at and going to a few matches I think I'll be ok. I'm going to make a trip out to Banner Rd. in the AM to see if I can beat some of the heat and see if I can hit anything and I hope all goes well and I get the chrony out to send some 7WSM rounds from my pistol that I've been needing to do since April.

Anyone feel up to it I should be at the range between 8:30-9:00 tomorrow. Thanks fella's for the nice words I hope it works out like I had planned. Later,

Well I got to the range at 8:20 and left at 11:30 and boys it's been to damn long since I have just shot! found out the loads I had worked up back in April were not real good for August as the first three tha bolt was a touch hard to open so I just stopped but the 7WSM shot well with some of the cooler loads that is LOL got a load worked up with some of those cheap MidSouth varmint bullets so time to get crankin' with those loads.

Boys and girls it's been a LONG time since I have shot open sights and it showed! the first 20 rounds I was trying to get my head in the right place and adjust sights and figure out a new rifle but by the time the dust settled I recalled what I was supposed to do and while the groups were not anything that would win me and BR matches I did manage to keep most of a magazine in a 2" group @ 50 yards and to my surprise about the same at 100 yards so I'm hopeful things will get better and I can post some pictures of some groups I can brag about.

The rifle ran awesome! got the gas block adjusted to where the brass doesn't travel too far and found out I needed to adjust the front sight as I didn't get it totally square yesterday and it had a touch of cant nothing an allen wrench and a screwdriver handle couldn't fix
