Buy a Loki. You can spend a whole lot more, but if you tell them what you are wanting to do with it, ie.. 3 gun, shoot cans, etc. they will build you the best gun for the purpose for the money.

Loki is a new one to me....I will def have to check them out. My current one is a Stag-Arms Model 2.. So far it has been flawless and very accurate....I'm a rookie to these tactical weapons.....but.....I'm hooked now

Stag Arms and Colt are both coming out with a sweet new 3 gun rifle in the next 3-6 months. They are both gonna be really sweet.

3 gun rifle? Do explain....haha....I'm telling you ...I'm a rookie with tactical weapons...I've heard the time a lot....is this some sort of match thing?

Term* not time...stupid auto correct

Just give it time. I know Jessie sharts a little bit everytime he can explain 3 gun to somebody. I won't steal his thunder...

The LaRue stuff is top notch. I have never shot them but hear they ate tack drivers. The ones I have handled have been super heavy!

There is nothing magical about a "3 gun" rifle. There are just a few features that are common to 3 gun. Long handguards, longer barrels, light wieght bolt carrier, adjustable gas systems, loud compensators, etc. 3 Gun rifles are usually better shooters than the average off the shelf AR15, generally speaking.

I have an LMT Defender I carry as my patrol rifle and couldn't be happier. I went from a Rock River Arms to this LMT and love it!!!! Steve at Cold Hand Arms is who I got it and my suppressor from.

Anybody got any input on the DPMS 3G1???? Maybe put an ACOG or Leupold Mark 4 4x24mm HAMR on it???? Havn't shot one yet but seems like a nice rifle for the price. Going to shoot my first 3gun on Sunday. Will be using my 16" M-4 style AR with a red dot so I'm thinking anything would be a step up from that. I'll check out the Loki's...

The ACOG is nice. I had to zero a HAMR on the 3 Gun Nation shoot off Stag rifles and I was not impressed. I was told we had prototypes which was part of the issues we had.

For 3 gun your much better of with a 1-4 variable power scope.

I had an ACOG on my M-4 when I deployed. I liked it OK but the 1-4 vari does sound like it would make more sense for 3gun. Thx

I had a leupold 2.5X long eye relief scope that I pulled off the 30/30 I put this on my AR while deciding on a scope. It is harder to transition on close "pistol range" targets even with this low of a magnification. I now have a Vortex 1-4X and love it the one power is great for close targets. At the 3 gun match make sure and look at others scopes wormydog can only do sundays at tulsa but his trijicon with green dot german post was also pretty nice, a clutter free reticle.

Will check it out. Thx Corey. I'm at Altus AFB right now so I'll be sure to wave when I pass Chickasha on my way home Friday night.

If you don't have a strongly dominant eye the ACOG will be the best thing for you, but if you tend to get "lost" in the scope a 1X is the way to go. I have won several big matches with a TA-11 ACOG and the rest of the feild ran 1-4X and such. Last year I shot to 4th place at CMMG with a 3-9X variable, so it can be done at higher powers, but you can't have a strongly dominant eye. KurtM
