Ok guys - I just bought a Spikes Lower from Steve at Cold Hand Arms - Got the Lower Kit on - now lets all help me build a machine....

I am going to be open to suggestions for the rest of it.

FIRST UP - THE STOCK - help me find what stock to put on this bad boy. My first preference is Desert Brown btw...

I'm 5'11 - I really want to mount 1-4x type optics on it so the flat top w/ no iron sights are going to be a must for me.

Really just have the $$$ to do one part at a time - got the lower put together wanna finish getting the stock on so the lower is complete then I can focus on uppers

I think he's talking about the a2 stock.

I don't care too much for the a2 stocks personally, for coyote hunting or anything at all. I like the collapsable stocks maneuverability and adjustability for colder weather and warmer clothes and different shooting positions.

Look at Spike's Tactical. They have a pretty decently priced stock kit that comes with everything you need.

I'd go with the MOE if price is an issue. If not, then the ACS that spiff has is pretty tits too.

Yeah, me too. And I really like my ACS. Feels great.

But with a fixed A1/A2, you use a rifle buffer system, which is supposedly a bit flatter / smoother recoiling for 3gun.

True. True. Is the shorty a2 rifle? or is it carbine that looks like an a2? I can't remember

You mean an Entry or a Sully? They're both carbine length tubes under the stock.

You might try someone's rifle with an A1 stock, I'm 6'+ and I find the A1 stock kinda stubby but the A2 is just right and pretty cheap to boot.

The only adjustable stock I have found that I like is the Magpul CTR.

That's pretty mean looking. I'm gonna pick up my lower tomorrow and then I'll be in the same boat as you looking for goodies to put on it! What's the info on the stock in the pic and what's the price range for it?
I like the paint job you did on your lower also.
