ar 15 barrel torque question

I know the barrel nut is usually 35-40 ft lbs...but no more than 80...do you guys use the forumla to factory in the extension of the ar15 wrench or do you just set your torque wrench to x ft lbs and go? I saw a forumla to use with a ar15 wrench but cant find the forum i saw it in.

Snug it, then torque it to the next hole and you're good to go.

No, actually I'm pretty specific on things that require it.
Follow Chambers' advice on the barrel nut.
