I have done some homework on what bullets will work with this twist, but I am curious if anyone has had any issues with the AR and slower powders. I am going to load some Retumbo and 107 gr Sierra BTHP. I know that garand gas guns want a certain burn rate for optimal operation of the gas system. Do you know if that is a concern on the AR-10?

Thanks,

I don't think you can hurt an AR by using the wrong powder, short of blowing it up. Garands need a specific burn rate because they've got an awful lot of reciprocating mass to get moving and the wrong powder and bullet weight can bend the oprod.

Well it did not hurt it, but it made a single shot out of my AR. :D Acually a single shot would be easier to re-load than this thing when it was messing up.

Too much gas or too little gas and it just quits working. I am going to get an adjustable gas block.

I brought it back to life for the time being by cocking the gas block off to one side so that the gas flow was reduced.

I understand a lot of the people with suppressors have similar issues.

The Load shoots well and that bullet is a good long range performer.
