Been looking at AK-101/103 and wondering if anyone here has much experience of shooting them in competition. I've heard the 7.62 AK's aren't really all that accurate past 100 yards. Wondering if the 5.56 version is any better, or if the inaccuracy thing was just inherent to all AK's? Also wondering what some of the better brands are for AK's? I've run across a few people that say it doesn't matter because they're all the same and others that say Saiga is the only way to go. I don't really know anything about AK's except their super reliable...
Ruger Mini-14's are something else I was looking at. They appear to be the grown up version of the Ruger 10-22, which I have a really like. I was thinking the tactical version that has all the rails and mounts on it might make for a good 3-Gun.
Any input on those would be appreciated.
