Anyone know much about Front Sight?

So, after years of bugging my mom about getting her Concealed Weapon License, she took the class, and should have her license any day. I have also been working on getting her to train. Tried to get her to just start small by going shooting with me and my wife. Did she listen? well, yeah..... She just booked a four day defensive handgun class in Nevada. Go shooting with her son? no, fly across country and spend four days in class? ok, sure. I'm happy she has finally listened to my advice and is taking a class, but wow.......


I tried to push her to TDSA, but she wanted an excuse to take a road trip, and found a training cert on Ebay really cheap. So, anyone know much about them?

Supposed to be quality instruction with good facilities. I want to say the honcho is Dr. Pxxxxx which I think started life out at Gunsite. Could be wrong. They have free DVDs out so you should be able to find something on Youtube about them or ask them for one. Check to see what classes they offer and when while you have them on the phone. There is more I just grabbed the first one.

 
Oh dear Lord. Front Sight is the real estate time share vacation scam of the shooting world.
Their whole scheme is to sell you a membership subscription and/or a piece of property.

In the name of all that is Holy, do not subscribe to their website. I still get recorded phone messages at 8am on holidays from them...wishing me a nice holiday, inviting me to a class, and warning me that this is my absolute last chance for the super top secret extra special never gonna happen again deal, exclusive of course to special clients like me.

Whew. If you never have or never will listen to anything I say...hear me now.

I have no personal experience with them, but a member of our club, will repeat what Robert just said.

I hear from folks they shot "ALOT" but it was pretty rote instruction.

Wow... now get her a couple of hours with Will Anderson, USSA, my cousin Vinnie...or any of the other 25 or 30 world class pistol coaches right here in Oklahoma
 
I am not defending them, but I know several of their instructors from back when we used to teach at Gun Site together. They are good guys, and the school is one of the few that teaches mind set for gun fighting. As for gimmicks and time share I don't know, but every school these days seems to have the sales stuff that constantly hounds you.

Like TDSA (one of the few that DOESN'T gimmick you to death) they teach basics, trigger control and front sight focus instead of trying to go to fast to get to the "cool" stuff, and like ANY shcool it gives you a place to start your journy.
 
Okay, someone start a thread a on the different stances. It is raining and I took off to go to the range so I take offense to "lol" at the Weaver and want to vent :) Damn young kids lol no offense well maybe a little - no just joshing - maybe lol freaking rain.:)
just funnin about the young kids - really no offense.

If you want to know anything about anyones Mom just ask the Semi Pros. They will know more than you could ever want to know.

What is the "Weaver"? Never heard of such a thing.
