Kinda looking into this as a part time/side job. Going to do some research, but figured I would see if anyone knew anything about it. Looking into trapping coons, possums etc for starters.

I'm not real sure about how to start a business in pest removal.
I've been trapping for many years and can offer advice on the specifics of placing traps, etc, but I suspect you already know that if your wanting to start a business.

One thing I do know is that beaver are open year round and nuisance calls are frequent from pond owners, and people that have homes on rivers. Mpney to be made.

The best trap for beaver is the conibear. In Oklahoma, one must go through a training course, sponsored by the ODW before legally using the conibear. Its a kill trap, not a leg hold or live trap. I don't know who puts on the training classes, but a call to the county Game Warden will answer all of the questions. There is a toll free number to call the ODW to ask questions, and that may be the easiest.

I'm thinking that to be a nuisance trapper, its with the Feds, like NRCS or something? Don't know, but I have also thought about this as I have tons of live, and leg hold traps.

Might accidentally work into a new hunting area if the land owner is happy with the results. :D

I'm sure trapping in urban areas would require live traps and relocation or euthanizing the animal, but the home owners would sure be happy getting that skunk out of their yard.

BREAKING NEWS!
I just Remembered the big outdoor expo is going on this weekend. I've attended several times, and one of the go-to places for me is the OK furbearers exibit. They have trap sets demo'd, and will talk with somebody for a long time about trapping. I'm betting some of these folks will have a good answer as well. :D
