If you need a place to discuss prepping just ask and we will create it on Boomershooter for you. There is no need to go to another forum for anything.
While the prepping forum has a firearms section, it is mostly for the non-firearm types that are not comfortable visiting a mostly firearms site. Got to break them in slow you know then we can lead them to shooting sites when they want more info.
then why do you post pics of all your guns then WorkyFrog!?
Ok I gotta admit I was kidding about that one part. The prepping stuff is hard not to poke fun at to be completely truthful. Personally I like planning for success rather than failure but to each his own. I must admit that I do love seeing what the extreme Preppers come up with as means to survive based upon their version of what the world could be like if the elephant dung hits the fan. It seems nobody can agree on what disaster is really gonna get us first which is another interesting discussion to say the least.
I building a new house and I guess I'm doing my first prepping. I have a 15,000 kW (I think) Natural Gas generator installed. It will do everything including testing itself on a regular basis automatically. I am almost excited for an ice storm next spring.
I also put several connex boxes under ground that are welded together with multiple points of entry/exit. There is a geothermal heating/cooling system that runs off of solar power as well as a backup wind generator. I have over 250,000 rounds of ammunition and enough Campbell's tomato soup to last 7.6 years. I'd like to get that soup collection up past the 10 year mark but its tough as the older stuff is starting to get near its due date and we are eating 10-15 cans of soup per week right now.
Does anyone know which gas mask is best? I'm not really worried about a biological attack as much as I am concerned with my two 200 lb dogs farts while in the connex's. Those boys can clear a compound!
