I'm looking at getting one for my GSG. I know ALOT of open shooters use them on their rigs, so I wanted to get some first-hand opinions on their function, form, etc.

I run one on my open gun. They're pretty much industry standard in that regard. Mine is really easy to adjust, keeps its zero and the battery lasts a long time. When the battery does die, its very easy to change unlike some of the smaller red dots. I've never used one on a rifle or shotgun. I'd also be interested in hearing pros/cons for using them on a long gun.

What open gun do you have?

I don't have an open gun, but I'm very interested in them.
