I?d like to take a chance to introduce the forum to my business, Working Man?s Armory. We are a small firearms manufacturer located in North Charleston, but moving shortly to Mount Pleasant. We are licensed by the ATF as a Type 07 manufacturer.
In the past, our primary focus has been on the AK series of rifles, but due to a dwindling parts supply caused by ATF regulations and the current panic, we have had to shift away and take the opportunity to focus more on the AR-15 side of the house. This doesn?t mean that we are abandoning the AK, we are just exploring new ways of producing them and should have some really cool stuff coming out over the next few years.
We are primarily a manufacturer, and our focus will stay that way for the foreseeable future, but we do keep a small stock of parts on hand for retail sales. Our billet AR-15 lowers are in production and we have many units ready to ship or for resale here the lowcountry. Over the next few weeks, we will finish work on our new billet AR-15 upper receiver that matches our lower receiver. These will be sold as separate pieces, or as matched pairs at a reduced price. The lowers are all CNC machined right here in South Carolina, accept all mil-spec sized components, and are finished in a very nice deep black Class III Type 2 hard coat anodizing. We will be offering two complete AR-15 carbines later in the year, a standard version and an enhanced version. We strive for quality first, and even our standard line of rifles will include all Magpul furniture and ALG triggers.
You can see samples of our work at http://www.workingmansarmory.com and receivers and other parts are available for sale at shop.workingmansarmory.com.
We may be a new business, but I have been involved in the industry on the training side for 8 years. I have been an active carbine/pistol/shotgun instructor and AR armorer for law enforcement since 2005 and have spent thousands of hours conducting hands on training on the AR series of rifles. This time spent both shooting and teaching has really shown me what works, what doesn?t work, and what is just a gimmick, in the world of the black rifle. I also spent just under two years living in Afghanistan, patrolling with and training the Afghan National Police and Afghan Border Police, giving me a renewed appreciation for the simplicity and durability of the AK series of carbines.
Due to current obligations, and the move to a new facility, we are not taking any AK builds at the moment until we can guarantee a 30 day turn around. We are more than happy to take care of small AK issues if you have them and advice is always free. I look forward to meeting you all at the Shootzenfest. I will be sure to bring a sample of each of our rifles for you to test out as well as a few AK?s that we have built. If you are local to the lowcountry and wish to purchase items from our site, simply select ?local pickup? and avoid shipping costs.
