Thought I would start a thread for everyone to post how the ammo from the group buys is performing. Might be good for future ammo buys.

I got 1000 rounds 9mm of Red River Ammo from the 1st group buy.

I've used 200 rounds so far, and I had 1 fail to fire. Had a good strike on the primer, but no bang. Shooting all rounds out of my XDm 9mm.

Did you try it a 2nd time? If so did it fire?

As far as the Red River Ammo goes. out of 200 rounds I had 1 fail to fire, I dropped the hammer on it a second time and it went bang. And FWIW my taurus 92 liked this stuff very well. my wifes Sig P250 didn't care for it too much, but that may be due do dirty chamber, needing more lube, or who knows what.

Got one 40 cal round that had a strangely shaped bullet that would not chamber at all. I'll post a pic later.

The 9mm runs fine in my Glock 17 (of course) but would not work in my buddy's FA Mac 10 hardly at all. Not sure that says anything about the ammo.

All in all, pretty good stuff IMO. I'll probably buy more.

I just bought 1K rounds so Im hoping my M&P will eat it.

Hey Guys,

Glad to hear you are burning through some of the ammo. Every purchase you make from Red River Ammo Co. helps us become the go to source for quality ammunition. We appreciate your business.

As many of you know, we recently automated most of our system including boxing machines. When the Boomer order was boxed/trayed, we used the boxing machine as prescribed and inspected the primer end of the rounds as they were trayed. However, we found that this allowed us to miss the occasional dented case or damaged bullet. Since we want to produce the highest quality ammunition we decided that we would tray the rounds bullet down to inspect the primer end, then flip them into a bullet up position to inspect that end and then finally back over into the trays they go out the door in for a final visual look. We have found that this technique, while more time consuming, allows us to catch virtually every defect or blemish that passes through the machine. When combined with the multiple safety/quality redundancies on our loaders we are finding the right quality management system. We are doing our best to become the best option for you whether you are punching paper and tin cans behind a pond dam or running our ammo at the nationals. Thank you all for your feedback. Please feel free to p.m. or call me with any questions or comments you may have. 405-207-1331 Please include the type of gun used and the lot number located either on the end flap of the box or on the end of the styrofoam tray.

Thanks again,

Trevor Tindle, President

This is likely an upside down bullet. The 40 cal 180's are so squatty and square on both ends that the bullet collator sometimes lets one through. Our new inspection method mentioned above catches any of these now. Let me know next time you want a box and I'll discount one for you.

Thanks,

Trevor

Just updating. Shot another 100 rounds of Red River 9mm through my Kahr P9 with no problems. So my XDm and Kahr both work well with Red River Ammo.
