I have a Colt M1991A1. I received a C&S ambi thumb safety. When I installed the safety it did not disengage/block the sear so the gun will still fire. It appears the safety doesn't engage fully into the up position. I'm nervous to do any filing since I don't want to ruin the safety. Can anyone on here do this for me in the next day or two (I'm off work work Wednesday and Thursday)?

is it used? It sounds like it's already filed too much to match with your sear.
Usually, the safety has to be filed just to fit into the gun.

The nub that prevents the sear from moving is too long, you know since it's new. Take the grip safety out and you will see where material needs to be removed for the safety to rise up behind the sear. Put your stocker back in and look at how it moves. Replicate that with the new part and do the safety checks listed on the C&S site. You can do it yourself, I promise. If you are still squirrley about it I bet Dr. Greyson will give you a hand and explain how it all works.
