Am I just dumb? (please read before answering

Like I said, that's great thinking in B and C class where you can out run the points your competitors are shooting and the penalties they get. I used to win club matches years ago on the fact that I was just faster than everyone at the match. Then i went to bigger clubs and majors and got my butt kicked.

When you push you lose consistency. You make mistakes that turn into more match points lost than if you would just shoot at a comfortable "match" pace and call your shots. Speed is dictated by the difficulty of the target....
Watch the top guys they always run at 85-90% of their ability. If the hit factor is above 10 you will see them shoot at 95-100% of their ability.

The same should apply with all classes. If you're not watching hit factors and adjusting the speed at which you're personal ability levels you're leaving match points on the table.

I didn't come up with this idea. During the class I took with Phil Strader he said he pushes the speed up as the hit factor increases. He wasn't condoning that B/C had the skill level to do that though.
