Advice for 3 gun build

im going for a 6lb unloaded 3gun setup. NFA polymer lower, slickside aluminum upper, AP CF 15" HG, ACE ARUL Stock, jp trigger with red spring, JP LMOS BCG and Buffer, Rolling thunder comp, Swaro Z6i on Larue SPR-E mount.

The only thing im really undecided on is the barrel. i want top notch quality and as light of weight as possible.without hindering performance.

i keep adding the JP 18" light contour to cart than hesitating over the checkout button. i have NO issues with my 14.5" barrel other then its a little heavy for that small.

BTW my current rifle weighs 12lbs
Sounds like a nice setup. I like lightweight. I have a NFA polymer lower. Expect to have to do a little fitting to get mil spec LPK parts to fit. It wasn't a big deal, just a little smoothing, mainly with the mag catch. Also be careful not to overtighten the buffer tube in the lower. Those threads and the material around them are a weak point in the lower. Mine cracked without overtightening when I was assembling and NFA was quick to send me a replacement with no questions asked.

That light contour 18" JP is the lightest 18" I have found. That's why I have two of them.

I also have a JP light contour 16" mid gas barrel. Even lighter.

I don't like the idea of giving up any velocity for certain matches with long flashers like Midwest 3 gun or laRue targets like fallen brethren. Ill probably build a 20" gun eventually for those types of matches. 16" would be fine for a match like ProAm where u only shoot to 250-300.

If you're going to build just one, get a lightish 18-20" barrel. Be careful about making your rifle too light. I've got a LW profile 16" rifle that is so light it's very jumpy when shooting on the move. I imagine it would be for long range too, though I've never tried it past about 100 yards. My 18" LW JP barrel with a big weight (comp) on the end is much easier to shoot in that regard.

I didn't have any issues with it. Ran great for me. The elephant dung adjustable gas block I had was a different story. I need to get the syrac with locking detent.
