address change

i called sled and had my address updated but i havn't gotten my new card with my current address.i'm affraid to carry since my addy on my drivers license and cwp don't match.i'm hopeing there is a LEO forum member that can shed some light on this

seems like when i did mine they told me to make a copy of the cwp and my dl and get it notorized . then i had to send my old one in and carry the copy while i waited on the new one.

they told me not to carry.

it only took 5 days to get the new one back.

I was told by SLED when I asked this question that it is not legal to carry unless the DL and CWP match. I was also told not to accept a CWP if it doesnt match the DL and was told by them to tell those customers not to carry until it was updated. With that being said I asked for a SC code and she could not give me one to reference nor have I ever seen one as a deputy. If I encounter it on the road I just advise them to get it updated.

HBB:i figure most seasoned LE would do the same thing as you do,its the rookies that had me worried thats why i didn't carry untill i got my new card with the correct address on it. the last thing in the world i want is to have my CWP taken away.only thing i don't like about my permit is that its not a OPEN CARRY PERMIT lol.
