I've been looking for a new bipod, not that there's anything wrong with my own. I've been looking at the Atlas Bipod manufactured by Accu-Shot. Does anyone have any experience handling or using one of these?

Is he on this forum, or would I need to contact him directly through the Shooting Academy?

I'll be ordering mine tomorrow (hopefully) If he has any left after he fills his backorders. Not sure if I want to sell my Harris/Podclaw bipod or keep it for another rifle.

I just got a call from Steve at Triad Tactical this morning. I have the Atlas bipod and BT-17 rail shipping out tomorrow. After I get it and get it installed I'll post a review and take pics of how I installed it.

I'll be placing my order for the Atlas bipod V8 and cleat feet this afternoon. I found a website that has them in stock and I can hardly wait to receive it. I will do the same as Pyplynr and post pics of my rifle after the installation. :great:

I'm getting mine from U.S. Tactical Supply. I wanted to go through Botach ($22 cheaper) but they're out of stock and so is Triad Tactical. <_<

I just placed my order and it will be shipped via UPS ground today. The total price was $232 and I'll have to get the cleat feet from Accu-Shot. I can hardly wait because I've wanted one of these since I first saw it! :great:

Word of advice. Never deal with Botach. Just google Botach scam and read for days. I ordered from them once a few years ago. Said "in stock". After 2 months of waiting I called my CC company and canceled the order.

I guess it's a damn good thing that Botach was out of stock then because they were my first choice. Thanks for the heads-up. I'll be sure to tell those I know.

WOW!

I finally have the bipod mounted on my rifle and DAMN...I couldn't have picked a better bipod. It's built very rugged and the preset extensions on each leg really make it easy to deploy at the right height each time. My rifle is now officially complete (unless I decide to add a suppressor at a much later date) and damn, it's a beauty!

I also want one of these really bad. Could you tell there was much more weight on the rifle after you added it? What kind of rifle did you put it on? I want one for my 14.5" middy

I couldn't tell any difference whatsoever in the weight. I'm sure Pyplynr will comment on the weight of it. I mounted it on my POF P-308.

My setup is:

POF*USA P308 20" NP3 (http://www.pof-usa.com/p308/P308-20-MRR-H.htm)
Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50mm (zero stop, NP-R2 reticle) (http://nightforceoptics.com/nightforcescopes/SCOPES_OVERVIEW/5_5-22x50___5_5-22x56/5_5-22x50___5_5-22x56.html)

I knew you'd like it. It's a great piece. It kinda spoils ya...like the whole Nightforce deal

I'll get my postal scale out tomorrow and weigh my Atlas and one of my Harris' and report back... After I go to my range of course. Tomorrow will be the first time I actually shoot off of mine. It's already had quite a bit of dryfire practice.

Ok. I weighed a Harris 6-9 swivel model with a MidwayUSA podloc on it and it weighed in at 14.7oz. The Atlas weighs a bit less at 11oz even. Myself, I don't notice the weight of it because the Remmy 700 that it's on, weighs in at around 14 pounds with the bipod installed. When funds allow I will be replacing all my Harris bipods with Atlas ones.

Pyplynr, the only thing I don't like about the bipod is that there's really no way possible to keep it from being the slightest bit canted. In other words, it could be barely canted and you wouldn't know it until your shots weren't placed properly on the target or worse, you'd missed your mark when it counted the most. This could be remedied with something such as a small lever or push pin.

This is an issue that I didn't have with the GG&G bipod that I sold and replaced with the Atlas V8. If I can't figure out how to remedy this issue, I'll probably sell the Atlas at a loss and get another GG&G.
