To do with 1911's! Or, real firearms for that mater. I looked at, and bought a new UMAREX .22 air rifle today. The thing uses NITROGEN can's, not Co2, and you only get 40-50 shots on a tube, but dam, those shots are powerful! It came with a cheap scope, so I mounted the thing, sighted it in at about 40 yards, it throws about an inch group, if you take your time, that will improve with a decent optic. A hoot to shoot, and, I'm sure, a great tool in my ongoing war with the pine squirrels that invade my vehicles. Just a fun little diversion when the back yard is the only range open.:D

Air rifles are becoming increasingly popular.
Yours sounds like a keeper!
I had no idea how old air guns have been in use.
Lewis and Clark carried one to take small game on their expedition across the NW part of the country.
I think it's currently located in the National Gun Museum.

The thing definitely packs a punch. I'd guess equal to a .22 short. I think it will run on Co2 bottles also, they are the same size, and thread, but probably have the same velocity. I'll have to wait till the nitro runs out to be able to try it. These things get too popular, they'll end up on the Dem's hit list. Luckily, the stock isn't black!;)
