416 Stainless Steel

416 has a higher sulfur content, which makes the 416 easier to work(machine) than the 410 alloy.

Both materials will make a good barrel.

alright, do you have much experience with PSA? The reason I ask is, they have an upper on sale for labor day, total with BCG and CH and shipping would be 325, seems like a great deal, but reading the description, it just mentions m4 barrel extension, but not feed ramps, so does that mean they put an m4 extended barrel in a rifle receiver? Should I wait for a mid length regular upper to come back into stock?

Here it is: http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/psa-16-mid-length-stainless-1-7-freedom-upper-without-bcg-ch.html

The ramps are cut in the barrel extension, so saying that it have an m4 barrel extension is stating that it has m4 feed ramps. I'm not sure what you mean by a m4 extended barrel or rifle receiver...

I'm sure PSA wouldn't put something dumb together.
Order it and if for some strange reason it's a no go, send it back and request proper parts.

Yeah, called them, sounds like its good to go, they just dont list a lot of the info, apparently the barrels are proprietary so he couldnt tell me who made them but he said they still go through the ndt processes.
