40 gr for rifle

Do any of the pros use 40 gr vmax for the rifle. Or are they all shooting 55 gr?

40gr bullets are more expensive than 55's, and either of them would just be hoser ammo.
Also, short lil bullets like that might be a tad prome to bullet setback, being shorter and not having a cannelure.
Good ammo other than 55gr that 3gunners shoot would be precision type stuff, Like 69gr, 75, or 77gr stuff

I have it on pretty good authority that when they're loaded as super gamer loads they have trouble knocking plates off a Texas star at 100 yards.

i use the 50 gr vmax in my 1/12 twist 223 bolt gun. I don't think the 1 in 12" likes the 55's.

1/12 likes 55s just fine, your rifle may just prefer 50s.
