I have decided that my next build is going to be a .300Blk. I want some of my fellow BSER opinions though. My current thoughts are to simply re barrel my first AR with a .300 barrel, new gas block and free float fore end. Or wwould it be better to just build a .300 upper or a whole rifle. This will be only my second build and 3rd AR so any and all opinions are welcome.

Definitely build a new upper vs swapping out a barrel and new handguard on an existing upper. Like Matt mentioned, it's just $40 for a stripped blem upper. PSA has them right now for $39.99. Their "blems" I've purchased so far have hardly been blems.

CMMG, Spikes, YHM they'll all do the trick just fine for a 9mm, just be sure to check the thread pitch with whatever muzzle device you go with.

One of our sponsors Hailey Ordnance can hook you up, they use Lothar Walther blanks, next to them I would consider Wilson Combat they had them in stock last time I looked.

I would be interested in price also. I've also been bit by the 300blk bug. I took apart my Seekins 6.8spc and am looking to go with their 14.5" fluted 300blk. Barrel. I talked to the Hailey guys at the last gun show and they are going to be coming out with their suppressor soon. They said that it wouldn't be a problem to make their muzzle brake suppressor adaptor to where it could be pinned. Really nice guys to talk to.

I got a message yesterday. They told me their base barrel, flutter and cerakoted is $160.00 retail. Didn't say what length or gas length that price is.

Another question for everyone. I have decided to go with a Silencerco 3 prong flash hider. I have limited experience with the .300Blk round so would it be better to go with a 16 inch barrel or 14.5in and pinned and welded the flash hider. I am not wanting to deal with SBR stuff since this is just an upper build.

Blackout is a pretty efficient so you won't loose much velocity with supers. I say go whichever route is cheaper. If you need some load data for subs feel free to pm me

Most folks that want to suppress subsonic 300blk bacuse its cool, will sbr it, because its cool, and a short barrel is all you need for ss velocities. If youre going to hunt with it and run those loads, then theres really no difference between 14.5 and 16". Theyre both too long, so dont bother pinning, and go with the 16"
