ok guys I'm in the market for a good 308. I've been looking at a remington 700p ltr. is this a good rifle or is there something out there that is better? and the next question i will have is what kinda optic i should put on it. i know I'm going to spend a good chunk of change for a good scope i just don't know what kind to get. any help would be great thanks.

Consider the Savage 10FCP with either the McMillan or HS Precision stock. They both come with the accutrigger. I have the one with a McMillan stock topped with a Zeiss 6.5-20x scope. It is a great rifle and scope for the money. For the Zeiss scope, Cameraland NY sells on eBay under the user name gr8ful doug. They are a very reputable Zeiss dealer and I have had no issues dealing with them. You should be able to get the scope for under $800 if you are patient.

yes i have looked at the savage rifles i like them as well. maybe i need both. and thanks for the info i will check into the ziess.

gr8fuldoug is a great seller, I have bought a couple items from him before and will buy from again.

Check out the Tika t3 light very good gun it is a sako/bretta mix. These are two very reputable gun makers!

I just bought a sweet DPMS LR308 that's setup for 3 gun.

You can check it out by clicking on my gunzoo signature.

i have an ar 15 would that work for the three gun event or does it need to be a 308. i was looking to set up a bolt action for long range shooting but i wouldn't be opposed to setting up another one for the three gun that looks like a lot of fun. the only shotgun i have is an 870 express that holds 6 would that work?

Most guys run an AR15 in .223 in 3 gun. Your 870 will work. You may want to get a longer extension tube eventually but what u have will get u started. I have a few extra Benelli M1 shotguns you're welcome to shoot as well.

Glad you made it out this morning. I apologize for the amount of money that this trip is about to cost you but I don't apologize for all the fun you're gonna have.
