Found this crazy little car/motorcyle on the internet. Looks pretty cool and will get 84MPG. Target price point is under $7000. Will have power windows and locks, AC and AM/FM radio standard. All options will be al a carte, so no packaged options.

Has anyone else seen or heard of this vehicle? What do you think of it?

That is kind of a funny story about the Dale. Hopefully the Elio does not have that kind of an issue. There has been alot more development done on the Elio. They have designed and built their own engine with the help of IAV. IAV has been engineering drivetrain stuff for some of the bigger car makers.

Interesting. But like the Slingshot, its a motorcycle (legally) so if you're in a helmet mandate state, you have to wear a helmet. You have to have a MC endorsement on your license. There may be insurance implications. And unlike the Slingshot, its slooow.

They have actually implimented legislation in many of the Motorcycle license required states and helmet required states as well, that will make it easier for people without the endorsment to own and drive an Elio.
They are trying to get the states that require a license for a motorcycle to create a new catagory under motorcycle to be called "Autocycle".

Below are links to blog enties on the Elio website that covers the helmet and license subjects.

The Elio may be slow, but if you buy one you will buying it for the gas mileage (est. 84MPG) and to keep the milage off of your more expensive truck or car during your daily commute. Although, a 0-60 of 9.6 seconds and a top speed of 107MPH is not too bad. Keep in mind that is the specs of the normally asperated model. There will be a turbo option available for the Elio at a future date, after launch.
