Did I hear my name?

Never been to a modern 3 gun match but would like to see one.

A clerk at PSA told me one was being organized in the Orangeburg area.

Still shooting Wild Bunch (3 guns) and cowboy (4 guns if you count both revolvers).

I'm sure he was asking about what some call "modern" three gun. I am informed that they once held matches in Belton but not at present. The Skip J Range in Anderson holds 2 Gun (tactical rifle and pistol) matches according to the website. You might find practical pistol clubs holding the occasional three gun match.

Considering the TV coverage of Three Gun I am a little surprised there are no clubs in SC.

I had the oppurtunity to shoot in the Palmetto 3 gun match last month. As a new shooter (never shot 3 gun, nor any type of competition) I was a little nervous going in but the guys I shot with were great, helped me when I was struggling through a few places and helped me daignose a problem I was having with my shotgun. Really good group of guys so if your close I really recommend shooting these matches.

NCFI is doing a 3-gun every 2nd Saturday of the month in Flat Rock, NC Next one is Sept 14th.

Go to the EVENTS CALENDAR page.

Matches are very newbie friendly, typically there are 5 stages. Suggested round counts for rifle and pistol are 75 rounds each, 50 rounds for shotgun (usually dove shot) and slugs (count can vary).

$25 and they do drawings for a bunchof give-a-ways at the end of the day.

Very challenging stages.
