Alright shooters, the inaugural WVO 3-Gun match at USSA is less than two weeks away!! Some people have been asking what format we'll be using. We will officially be using 3-Gun Nation targets, rules and scoring. Charles Sole along with 3-Gun Nation have been very generous and are donating official 3GN targets for our matches! Please send him a Thank You when you get a chance. Since this is our first match and my first time as MD, we wanted to do it up big. We will have a raffle at the shooter's meeting after sign in for over $500 in cool prizes that Jim Martin, founder and president of WVO, is donating. Furthermore, we have an award winning competitive BBQ chef bringing his smoker down to cook us lunch. We have people coming from as far away as Wisconsin, Carl Schult from Gunfighter Targets, to help us kick this new era of Oklahoma 3-Gun off! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!! See you all out there!!

Share the juicy details! Stage diagrams, round counts per stage, pics! I wanna know which gear I need to beg, steal or borrow.

So like three people from OKC went to this. Says a lot about the demand for 3gun in this area

Too hot!!!!!!

Looks like there were a ton of DNF's

It was REALLY hot. Despite about 50 registrants only about 33 actually shot and a bunch left early due to the heat. Gonna plan the next one for probably late September or early October so it won't be quite so hot.

It was really hot! By second stage I was spent. In the end, I think we were shooting just to finish. I was the last shooter our last stage & those of us left in the squad, we cheered as the RO & I left the huddled mass under the shade.

People need to spend more time outside :P It was a great match but it had a few things going against it for OKC people tho. 1 would be the heat for most people who don't spend more of there time outside it was way to hot. 2 I live in Moore/South side okc and it was a 2 hour drive to get there and the match sign in time was 8 am so i had to get up around 5:30 am to allow for traffic/construction zones on the highway. So waking up super early on a saturday to go shoot a match in 100+ degrees was probably not high on most peoples lists. So i don't really feel like this match should be used to gauge the amount of interest our area has in 3 gun. That being said i personally was expecting a few more OKC shooters to attend.

Also want to thank Garret and Niki and the rest of WVO for setting up such a great match the stages were awesome and I had a great time!
