3-Gun at OKCGC Returns 2/22/14

Had a great time. Thank the Lord I had a loaner shotty, that thing was awesome. I actually enjoyed the scatter gun today.

Thanks to the organizers for making this happen.

I almost forgot to mention that the guys from Hailey Ordnance came out yesterday. They had a few of their sweet ass rifles with them and a really cool red anodized stripped lower. Sean shot his first two stages of 3 gun with us. I think he's hooked! We just gotta get him converted from precision rifle to run and gun,

Thanks for coming out guys. I think we need to do an organized pre match demo day next month. I know I'd like to put a few rounds thru your guns.

For those of you not on our squad we are referring to the double stacked set of targets on stage 3. Sean from Hailey Ordnance made his first run at 3 gun using one of their kickass rifles, his carry gun and my Stoeger M3000. Sean shoots Precision rifle competitively so he can shoot which was evident. He blazes thru the first array of 8 rifle targets but I only hear 4 double taps. Blazes the shotgun part. The. Takes down the 8 targets in the pistol Strat with four double taps. This is when I see that he's only shooting the bottom array of four targets. We unload and show clear and that's when this conversation starts.

Can I get a "quote of the match" for me not shooting an entire section of targets?
- Jesse "hey sean, you realize you only shot the bottom row, right?"
- Sean "there were four targets?"
- Tony "did you just think they were REALLY long torso people"
I think somebody calked them Sasquatch targets

It's been snow and mud up here in Salina since December, it was great to drive down for good weather and great stages!
I always learn a lot watching better shooters break down a stage and stick to their plan after the start tone.
Thanks again to all that put this match on.

I'd like to thank everyone that put this match together, great job. I had a blast even though this was only my second time to shoot a 3 gun match. I'd found out that I need a lot of practice still. Again thanks for a great match and all the help.

Even though I didn't do any shooting this go around, It was good to meet several of you. Hopefully, I'll be shooting the next one.

Good match with great stages. I just need to get rid of the stupid penalties and figure out how to shoot slugs.

And a big thank you to those that put on this match.

I agree with that Phillip. Stage 2 (shooting left and right handed) my TOE was across the fault line and barely touching the ground. BOOM, 8 procedurals! Mental mistakes can kill a stage and a match. After that FUBAR, I'll be lucky if I beat anyone

That helps explain a little as to why you were about to get into my truck and leave after the match. :)

I felt pretty good about the match except for shooting myself in the foot...twice, stage two I didn't know how to count shotgun targets, I started with 8 instead of 9, 7+1. And you know when you hear some people say never put a used mag back in your magazine pouch, well, what they say is true, I found that out on stage 3.

I didn't go but after looking at the competition top 13 sounds good to bad stone was 14th JK.
On a serious note to make top twenty sounds good top ten is great top 5 was very good shooters. Definitely healthy competition.

I had a Great Time at the match...my scores don't reflect how much fun I did have....and they never really do, but definitely not this match. It's never a good thing when you think you've just cleared your best stage of the day and you turn around and the RO is counting how many procedurals you just got...damnit man, live and learn. Thank you to the RO's on my squad for keeping me outta trouble with friendly reminders from time to time (ie, steel first, then slugs, etc)

I appreciate everyone that helped get 3Gun off and running again here in OKC. I enjoy other matches too, but there's no place like home! Great squad all day and it was a hoot witnessing the "Sasquatch" target scene..lol It was nice to meet the guys from our new sponsors, Hailey Ordnance. Hats off for showing up and hanging out for a few stages. Really cool guns and cool guys to go with em.

I plan on making the 3 gun match this month. It will be my first. So quick question would be what are a typical round count for each gun so I know what to pack. Also in rifle stages how many rounds since I don't have a ar mag carrier I do have a pmag with a nordic extension if that will get me through.
