Taran is an interesting guy.

I think the way he explained how he calls shots with a handgun is really bad advice for a beginner.

Yeah that handgun stuff is very advanced. I am just now trying to figure out some of that sorta thing. Iam all sights until about 5 yards and in.

I had a quick training session with a LE instructor still on the force. He is a great guy and his marksmanship is quite impressive. I'm going to start bringing him to some matches at OKCGC, TRI-City and OKC/Edmond indoor. He is actually wanting to get into competitive shooting and would have access to some amazing gear. I really don't know much about AR's in general but, I had some range time with one of the LE LWRCI with an EOTech Holographic that auto adjusts for all shooters. This aperture was amazing, the sight ring would float around on screen staying on target, and then would center automatically. With this it would be a no brainer for popping target from 5-100 for me. But those sights are not cheap. They also were setup with pop-up irons that were zeroed thru the EOTech, to be used in case of device failure.

This should be very fun!

I wish we could setup a B.S. Member only workshop (maybe at Lexington or some open range)to meet, greet, learn and shoot. I would love to meet up with the Vets and learn all I can - I promise to listen and you can even slap me with a bamboo rod when I make a mistake - All Karate kid style!

That's the setup I'm running. If you want to see how it works with a bone-rattling compensator on the end of the barrel, I'd be happy to let you try it out some time.

Yeah, pretty std for eotech. If you want to shoot one on a nordic .22 ar, you can shoot mine. I need to start prcticing with it for the HPSC anyway.

Likewise. That kind of shot calling takes a lot of practice.

Hopefully the state SWAT championship that a couple of us are involved with will stimulate some competitive interest in the LE community. :)
