3 D Printers

I don't do facebook so I can't see your link, but I have seen some of the 3 D Printer demonstrations and they are unbelievable........It is just a matter of time to where the manufacturing devices will make complicated objects very quickly......As these devices become more available the costs will begin to drop enough where private individuals will be able to afford them to make what ever they desire.

FYI - I was able to use Chrome to view the link without logging into Facebook.

I have a friend who is a jeweler and he got me interested in the 3D printing. The jewelry industry uses it to make wax molds they can then cast in metal. There is like a cult around one called Blender.
So of course I had to download a copy and try it out. I found it to have a lot of potential, but it is very complicated to even scratch the surface.
I use computer graphics software in my job and I found blender to be like starting all over again. Turrable!

But if you have an interest in doing some 3D stuff Blender is a good place to start. Youtube has a lot of videos dedicated to it.

It seems that writing the program and running the printer to make something would take more time than just fabricating it from scratch.
the Ak is pretty easy to build, isn't it?
