I've used the Rem soft points with great sucess in .55 grain. I haven't shot one past 80 yds with them.
I have HP's but they are 45 grain, and not legal for deer.

I've used 55 gr Remington accutips. Switched to Hornady vmaxs but haven't used them on a deer yet. Shot placement is key.

Wormy just me talkin' out loud those 55 V-Max ain't worth a elephant dung on deer! they open up way to fast. Shot 3 all does in the neck first shot 40 yards second about 100 and the third 80 or so, the hole was about 3" in diameter but only maybe max 2" of penetration. They dropped like a rock but had to finish each off when I got to them.

Sierra part number 1365 a 55gr SP spitzer is about the most awesome bullet I've found for killin' cute furry woodland creatures, quick human kills. I'll have to check my load data but for 22-250 and 223 I would chalk it up to the best all around bullet for the .224 caliber and hunting.

Feegee, let me play a little and I'll try and roll ya enough to get you thru I need to roll some other 223 and figure I can just dump some powder in a few cases and seat some bullets for ya hell I might even use primers LOL Later,

Kirk

I've heard a lot of other people have had good success on deer with the 75gr Match BTHP from Hornady. I bought several boxes of the Superformance but haven't had a chance to use it on anything living yet.
